Schaefer provided the structural engineering design for two multi-story office buildings as part of a master plan in Cincinnati’s Innovation District. One six-story office building houses University of Cincinnati research activities. The program includes 20+ interdisciplinary research labs, conference rooms, classrooms, huddle rooms + event spaces. A two-story high-bay facility gives ample space to test + fly robotic creations.

The second building, also six stories of office space, was developed + designed to attract innovation-driven tenants to the district. This building features a 16 ft horizontal massing shift + kinked cantilever at level three, creating a dynamic shape, while at the same time opening more daylight to the adjacent building.
