The new Cascades mixed-use development spans two city blocks called Bloxham + Firestone.
Bloxham consists of apartments, parking + wood-framed triplexes. The precast concrete constructed apartments stand nine stories with units ranging from studio to three bedroom. It includes ground floor retail space, and a pool, clubhouse, and business + fitness centers on the fifth floor overlooking the adjacent park + music venue. Five stories of precast concrete parking both below + above ground park vehicles for public + business uses.
A seven-story steel-framed building grounds the Firestone Block with retail on the ground + third levels, and office space throughout the rest of the structure. A two-story precast concrete parking garage features a rooftop public plaza + amenity deck. A monumental stair + water feature connects that plaza to the adjacent park’s promenade. A one-story central plant is designed for future vertical expansion of a seven-story office tower. Also on the block is the AC Hotel Tallahassee by Marriott.
Dramatic elevation changes required foundations that could overcome the grade differential + maximize building footprints, and retaining walls up to 50+ ft tall in areas. The tight site required collaborative logistics for staging + delivery.
