Cincinnati + Hamilton County Public Library Forest Park Branch Library
Cincinnati, Ohio
Forest Park is the first new Cincinnati + Hamilton County Public Library building in 20+ years. The building is U-shaped; the fourth side of the building is an open canopy that creates a courtyard. The interior of the library has a lot of open flexible space, though it’s broken up to provide a children’s area, maker’s space, community rooms, study rooms, meeting rooms, gaming area, as well as space for the traditional library collections.
To provide an open feeling with lots of light, a clerestory was used. The structure was constructed with traditional steel framing. The team also designed the canopy over the outdoor courtyard.
This project is a part of Cincinnati + Hamilton County Public Library’s master plan.
