Schaefer closes for firm-wide service day

Schaefer will be closed the morning of September 4, 2026 for the firm to take part in a service event. It will take place over a half-day; the firm will reopen at 12PM in each office’s local time zone.

Schaefer team members will be volunteering with the below organizations. The firm has partnered with several of these organizations in the past, either through service events or as part of the annual holiday giving campaign.

• Cincinnati, Ohio | People Working Cooperatively
• Columbus, Ohio | Mid-Ohio Food Collective
• Raleigh, North Carolina | NeighborUp Dorcas Thrift Shop
• Phoenix, Arizona | St. Mary’s Food Bank
• Remote team members | encouraged to volunteer with a local organization important to them

The volunteer event is part of the firm’s 50th anniversary celebration calendar consisting of activities + events that highlight the three core elements of Schaefer’s purpose – people, communities + projects. The full purpose: our people enhance communities through smart, innovative structures.

While this is the first time that Schaefer has coordinated a firm-wide volunteer event, the firm + individuals within in it provide regular opportunities to serve together; Schaefer believes in giving back to the communities where we work + live.

Additionally, all team members have the opportunity to use up to eight hours of volunteer time off (VTO) hours annually. Volunteer events can be Schaefer-coordinated or highlight individuals’ own philanthropic interest areas that positively impact the quality of life within our communities.
