A warehouse building located next to Scioto Audubon Metro Park was previously repurposed into multi-tenant retail. In of that building, Nocterra Brewing Co. opened its second location. Schaefer provided tenant improvements for Nocterra’s adaptive reuse project.

Schaefer designed a new man door opening as the brewery entrance. Inside, the team designed a custom mezzanine with a bar + seating located above the new kitchen. In all, Nocterra can welcome 300 guests inside of this location.

The owner wanted to highlight the outdoors so the team took advantage of the existing overhead doors, letting the brewery naturally spill out onto the new patio.

Schaefer navigated the challenges associated with integrating new + existing structures; in this case, integrating the steel mezzanine with the existing masonry building. The team also analyzed + reinforced existing structural elements.
