This year’s campaign centered around supporting local. In Cincinnati, Ohio, we partnered with Mazunte + YMCA of Greater Cincinnati; in Columbus, Ohio, we partnered with Hot Chicken Takeover + Food Rescue US; and in Phoenix, Arizona, we partnered with Gadzooks Enchiladas + Soup + Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Each of our client contacts received $20 to the restaurant partner nearest them, with the choice to take the gift card or donate it, sending meals to the local organization feeding our neighbors in need.
The results are in! In total, we put $10,000 back into our communities. One hundred and seven gift cards were claimed; some recipients were using the meals to connect with their families while others delivered them to their children’s teachers, elderly relatives and small business owners negatively impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns. For the individuals who chose the donation option, Schaefer team members were able to deliver 766 meals to our local partner organizations. We thank all of our partner organizations and our client contacts who participated. We were impressed with the number of meals we were able to donate, and the incredible kindness shown by those who chose to receive the gift card.
