Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) named Schaefer a finalist in its Marketing Communication Awards in Holiday Piece (Mixed Media).

Our 2022 holiday campaign, Holiday Houses with Heart, focused on enhancing our communities, and benefitted non-profit housing organizations in our hometowns. We partnered with:

Many of our clients received a locally-made gingerbread house kit from us. We asked them to construct + decorate their gingerbread houses with their colleagues, and tag Schaefer in photos of their completed gingerbread houses on social media. For every gingerbread house that we saw completed, we donated $25 to our hometown non-profit housing organizations. Combining our clients’ participation with our own donation, we donated a total of $9875 to our non-profit housing partners.As an added element, we reposted our clients’ gingerbread house photos on our social media channels and asked our followers to choose their favorite gingerbread house design. Besides bragging rights, winning firms received breakfast.

The housing theme continued through our holiday cards, which were designed (+ included instructions) to fold into a 3D house after consumption.

SMPS calls its Marketing Communication Awards “the longest-standing, most prestigious awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications produced by professional services firms in the design and building industry.” The competition is open to members and non-members. The awards feature a variety of submittal categories that cover most promotional activity initiatives A/E/C marketers pursue.

Overall winners will be announced Thursday, August 10 at SMPS Amplify A|E|C. Schaefer’s marketing team has accepted a first place award for Holiday Piece (Mixed Media) three times in the past four years.
