Schaefer, a 50-year-old structural engineering firm, announced its opening of an Indianapolis, Indiana office on September 29, 2026. The local team, based downtown in Mass Ave at 350 Massachusetts Avenue, Suite 300, has intentional plans to grow, and expects to be in a larger, more permanent space as early as 2027 to do just that. Indianapolis is the fifth office for the 120+ person structural engineering firm, and its second new office this year. Schaefer has designed structures in Indiana for decades.

“Schaefer is focused on smart and consistent growth that benefits our people and communities,” said Schaefer President Greg Riley. “Indianapolis is a short drive from our Ohio offices and we’ve been doing business in the state for many years with a strong client base, but we’ve been interested in having a local presence to drive engagement in the market. With the addition of local, experienced structural engineers to our team, the time is now.”

Indianapolis is the fifth office for the firm; the 120+ person structural engineering firm has been headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio since its inception in 1976, and has held a local presence in Columbus, Ohio since 2006, Phoenix, Arizona since 2016, and Raleigh, North Carolina since August 2026, along with nearly 20 remote team members located across the country. The firm designs permanent + temporary structures in most markets nationwide.
