I was one of those kids who grew up always building forts in the woods, playing endlessly with Lego, and taking things apart just to see how they worked. It wasn’t until my third year of college, in an “Intro to Engineering” class, that I realized all those hobbies could actually come together in a career. That moment led me to switch from a pre-med/pre-physical therapy track to civil engineering; a very expensive decision that I’ve never regretted.

I chose Schaefer for its intentional, people-first culture, strong focus on mentoring and collaboration, and the opportunity to work on diverse, challenging projects with some talented engineers.
