Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) named Schaefer a finalist for three of its Marketing Communication Awards categories: Holiday Piece (Mixed Media), Internal Communications (Mixed Media), and Newsletter Internal (Mixed Media).

Schaefer’s 2018 holiday campaign encouraged community building – an important purpose for our firm. Holiday cards featured one of five festive beverage recipes, gifts gave the ingredients to enjoy one of the recipes, and the e-card showed our team enjoying them together.

The other two categories cover internal initiatives. 2018 started with a big announcement – Schaefer’s headquarters was relocating after 20 years in the same office. The team used video, email, intranet, a move room, progress photos, a suggestion box, live Q+A sessions and other tactics to maintain open communication. We always posted about the new office in our internal newsletter, which was completely redesigned to communicate more effectively and build our internal community.

Overall winners will be announced August 1 at SMPS Build Business in Washington, DC. We previously won MCAs for Video (External) and Recruitment and Retention Communications (Mixed Media) categories.
