Schaefer Structural Engineers Present with WoodWorks

Doug Steimle, PE is one of Schaefer’s senior level engineers with 25+ years of experience. He is recognized in the design of tall wood + hybrid-frame buildings both for mixed-use + multi-residential, and has shared his knowledge through presentations to architects + engineers across the country through Woodworks, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Structural Engineers Association of Ohio annual conference. Doug is passionate about the future of the wood industry and has emerged as a heavy timber advocate; he has been involved in the design of 40+ mass timber projects, including the first two cross-laminated timber hotels in the United States.

Fae Garstang, PE has over a decade of structural engineering experience, specializing in wood design and the multi-story residential and senior living markets. Her creative eye for detailing and partnership with clients have helped her project teams weather the storm of labor and supply shortages while continuing to support innovative architectural program.
