Schaefer Principal Kyle Kusmer, PE will present “Outdoor Entertainment Codes, Loads + Practices” at the The Mobile Stage Conference on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 9.00AM. Kyle will discuss how current + future codes + standards guide the design of temporary structures like mobile stages.
Kyle Kusmer, PE has nearly two decades of experience in the event, rigging, fall protection + entertainment industry with Schaefer. His collaborative approach to unique projects leads to his clients achieving Instagram-worthy displays + effects, from permanent theater + motorized rigging, to traveling outdoor events, to staging + theming at some of the most notable theme parks + museums. Committed to his own as well as the continuous improvement of the industry, Kyle is a member of ESTA participating on the Rigging Working Group and a member of the E1.21 – Temporary Structures Used for Technical Production of Outdoor Entertainment Events. Recent E1.21 committee work has led to engaging members of the International Building Code committee to establish updated criteria for temporary structures in the upcoming 2024 edition of the International Building Code.
Kyle earned his Master of Science + Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Dayton. He is a licensed professional engineer delivering creative designs across the country.
