Lionsgate, headquartered in Santa Monica, California, opened a production facility within Great Point Studios in Yonkers, New York. Upon opening, Lionsgate Studios Yonkers was the largest modern film + television production facility in the Northeast region of the United States.

Schaefer provided the structural engineering design for the entry gate leading to the movie studios + lots. The permanent structure, that measured 52 ft wide + 30 ft high, was constructed with steel + aluminum trusses, covered with aluminum panels and topped with the Lionsgate name.
