15th + Vine integrated four historic buildings into one cohesive space. Now standing five stories and 55,000 sq ft, the new building merges both old and new construction. The ground floor holds 10,000 sq ft of retail space while the floors above are Class A office space topped with a rooftop terrace. Floor to ceiling windows, open floorplans with 11 ft ceiling heights, a welcoming three story atrium and a walkable community make this office building a desireable space.
Before construction could begin, the back of house was removed; during demolition, Schaefer provided temporary shoring services so that the front historic facades would not be disturbed. Existing brick walls that had deteriorated were repaired with brick salvaged during demolition. As the structural engineer of record, Schaefer incorporated bar joist floor, steel columns and girders, CMU shearwalls and wood framing as the structural support.
