1. Favorite thing to do off the clock?

I enjoy golfing + fishing.

2. Favorite sports and teams?

I’m much more of a college football + basketball sports fan, so my alma maters, East Carolina, Ohio State are my go-to teams.

3. What made you laugh the hardest in your entire life?

There is no single thing; I laugh a lot + try to enjoy life.

4. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

A dirty kitchen; the rest of the house can be a disaster, but the kitchen must be spotless.

5. What is the most extreme thing you have ever done?

I ran for public office (City Council) in my local town of Wake Forest, a suburb of Raleigh. I was fortunate enough to be elected + served a 4-year term.

6. If you weren’t in business development, what would you be?

I would be captain of a fishing charter boat.

7. Why you chose to work/live in Raleigh?

The Raleigh area has so much to offer. It’s one of the fastest-growing regions in the country while still maintaining a small-city feel. We’re just three hours from both the mountains + the coast, enjoy all four seasons with mild winters, and have an outstanding quality of life. After living here for several decades, I’ve built a strong network of friends + professional relationships.

8. Quote to live by.

“Respect your efforts, respect yourself. Self-respect leads to self-discipline. When you have both firmly under your belt, that’s real power”- Clint Eastwood

9. What is a skill that you don’t have, but wish you did?

I wish I could play a musical instrument.

10. What industry book have you read that has been most helpful to your career?

I like Good to Great by Jim Collins.
