The new TriHealth facility in Cincinnati’s Finneytown suburb was designed during the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of materials shortages at that time, the design + construction team and the owner explored material options related to procurement times, cost volatility + available labor force. The team selected post-tensioned concrete, a unique choice for a 60,000 sq ft medical office building, and fully vetted to align the owner’s goals + market outlook. This new building addressed the “medical desert” in this area at that time.
On the exterior, the building’s dramatic glass curtainwall zigs + zags connecting the cantilevering drop-off canopy, two-story lobby + waiting area; and marches up a monument staircase. The glasswork is supported on intricately detailed steel + concrete.
The facility provides internal medicine, pediatrics + family medicine services and is comprised of offices, exam rooms, nurses stations, lab + imaging.
