Pins Mechanical Company
Columbus, Ohio; Dublin, Ohio; Nashville, Tennessee

Pins Mechanical Company combines duck pin bowling, an arcade + a bar.

The Columbus, Ohio Pins was a renovation of an existing two-story industrial building. Several field visits were needed to assess existing building conditions uncovered in the demolition process. Structural design work included modified openings in exterior walls, stair framing, mechanical unit support, and floor + roof framing layout changes. One of the more unique structural features was the addition of a 930 sq ft raised skylight supported within the existing steel beam/concrete plank roof.

The Dublin, Ohio Pins is a part of the Bridge Park development, another Schaefer project. The tenant improvement project was inside of a building Schaefer had designed for Bridge Park.

Pins Nashville with 16-Bit Bar + Arcade is located on the north side of the ultra-urban Gulch neighborhood. The existing 30,000 sq ft building was gutted + retrofitted in compliance with current building codes. Schaefer worked closely with our clients to strike the balance of structural upgrades while maintaining the appearance of the brand Pins has built. Strategic columns + walls were replaced to provide structural upgrades while maintaining the rugged look. Portions of the roof structure were removed to create an outdoor entertainment space unique to area. A new steel mezzanine was designed + constructed within the space allowing for increased occupancy and creation of pinball alley.
