Schaefer was the structural engineer for the new six story Holiday Inn & Suites Downtown Cincinnati hotel on Seventh and Broadway streets. Besides the 117 guest rooms, the hotel also features the Losantiville Ballroom with a capacity for 220 guests and a 1900 sq ft pre-event space outside of it, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. A restaurant, designed to be convenient for both hotel guests and local diners in the community, takes up part of the ground floor.

The structure is a one story steel and precast podium with five stories of load bearing light gauge and insulated concrete form walls above. Our team met the challenge of supporting the sixth floor event space and a cast-in-place concrete pool located above the entrance canopy.
