what inspired you to pursue structural engineering?
When I was a kid, I enjoyed building with construction toys such as Lego, K’nex + Erector sets. In school, I gravitated towards science, but still believed I wanted to be an architect. I took a few architecture classes as a high school senior and realized I had limited art skill, so engineering was a natural fit for college.
what has been your favorite project?
My favorite project thus far during my time at Schaefer is the MadTree Parks + Rec renovation project located at Summit Park in Blue Ash, OH. We worked with MSA Design to complete the structural design for the renovation of an old airplane hangar building, converting the space into a new location for MadTree Brewing. It was a complex project with several challenges, but it is rewarding to see the finished project have high visibility in the Cincinnati area. It has served many customers + families since it opened.
