1. Favorite thing to do off the clock?
I spend most of my time these days playing with my two young daughters.
2. Favorite sports and teams?
Virginia Tech Hokie football. I’ll watch the Olympics, but I prefer to participate in sports vs. watching.
3. Most prized possession/what you couldn’t live without (outside of family and friends)?
My Kindle e-reader.
4. Meet my family.
My wife, Sarah, was born in Tucson + finally got us to move west. My oldest daughter, Charlotte, is a COVID baby, and we recently welcomed our youngest daughter, Olive, in April.
5. What are your hobbies?
Surfing, snowboarding, hiking, golf + reading fantasy books.
6. What is the most extreme thing you have ever done?
Whitewater rafting the Gauley River in West Virginia.
7. What’s your favorite day of the week?
Friday before a three-day weekend!
8. What’s your signature dish to cook for family and friends?
Steak, potatoes + vegetables all on the charcoal grill!
9. Why you chose to work/live in Phoenix?
We wanted to get more sun and be close to hiking + mountains all around the valley.
10. What market/material is your specialty and why?
I have spent most of my career in the wood + concrete world designing mixed-use buildings. I enjoy the complexity of making the structural systems work for different usage.
