Matt Novak joins Schaefer as a structural engineer in the Cincinnati, Ohio office. Read below to learn more about Matt.
1. Favorite sports and teams?
I’m not really a sports fan, but the closest thing would be drum corps. My favorite corps being Carolina Crown.
2. What made you laugh the hardest in your entire life?
There are a few contenders, but one that sticks out is the season two finale of “Community.”
3. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When people misuse “beat” when talking about music.
4. What would you do with $1 million?
I would travel with my friends to some place we’ve never been and then give the rest to charity.
5. If you weren’t a structural engineer, what would you be?
Probably another type of engineer, likely mechanical or aerospace, or maybe an urban planner or a statistician.
6. Why you chose to work/live in Cincinnati?
I went to school in Cincinnati and really like the city. I also have a lot of friends in the area that I don’t want to leave.
7. What’s on your bucket list?
I want to go to Japan at some point.
8. Fun fact about yourself.
I’ve been playing trumpet for 15 years, from middle school through college.
9. What is a skill that you don’t have, but wish you did?
I wish I was better at cooking.
10. What would you sing at karaoke?
My go to is “All These Things That I’ve Done” by the Killers.
