We’re excited to welcome Luke Butler to our team as a project engineer in our Cincinnati, Ohio office.
1. What’s your greatest accomplishment?
Becoming a dad. I never knew the joy I could feel by being the father of our son. I am honored to have the privilege to raise this little human. Next to being a dad, getting my Master’s degree. There were several obstacles that nearly prevented me from finishing, but thanks to my wife’s never-ending encouragement, I persevered.
2. If you could design a structure anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’ve always thought designing a skyscraper in New York City would be the pinnacle of structural engineering.
3. What is the most extreme thing you’ve ever done?
In 2015, I went to Nigeria with Engineering Missionaries International (EMI) to help out with the master planning of a hospital addition in Benin City. The hospital was overflowing and was in dire need of an expansion and upgrades to their equipment. It was scary to be in a country where civil unrest had recently occurred. But, I felt blessed to do a small part to help in the planning process for this poor community.
4. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When you order Skyline and they forget the hot sauce and oyster crackers. It really can ruin a person’s day…
5. What what you sing at karaoke?
I’m ashamed to say it: *NSYNC – “Bye Bye Bye.”
6. What’s on your bucket list?
I would love to see the Pyramids in Egypt.
7. Fun fact about yourself.
I was in a Nerf commercial once.
8. Favorite sports and teams.
I love soccer. I’m excited that Cincinnati is going to have an MLS team. Go FC Cincinnati!
