1. Favorite thing to do off the clock?
I like to watch British crime procedurals.
2. Favorite sports and teams?
I’m a big football fan, particularly college; I love watching the OSU Buckeyes and the West Virginia Mountaineers. When I feel like getting my heart broken, I’ll watch the Cleveland Browns.
3. Most prized possession/what you couldn’t live without (outside of family and friends)?
My phone. It’s a gateway to the whole world! Books, movies, social media, the internet, driving directions.. I honestly don’t know if I could function in the world without it anymore.
4. Meet my family.
There’s my husband, Kent; my two adult children, Daniel + Sylvia; and my two stepdaughters, Gussie + Katie. In September 2026, we’ll be adding a son-in-law to the mix when Katie + her fiancé, Luke, get married.
5. What are your hobbies?
I like knitting, reading + baking.
6. What made you laugh the hardest in your entire life?
My husband telling me about his trip to Warm Lake in Idaho. The name tickled me-is it really a name when you’re just calling a thing what it actually is?
7. What is the most extreme thing you have ever done?
Graduated from college while I was working full-time job and had two special needs kids in elementary school. Sometimes I look back on that time in my life, and I’m amazed that I made it through with my sanity mostly intact.
8. What’s your signature dish to cook for family and friends?
I call it Mexican hot chocolate cake: a flourless chocolate cake with cayenne pepper and cinnamon. It’s my family’s favorite birthday cake.
9. What’s on your bucket list?
Hike the Tour du Mont Blanc, a 105-mile (170 km) multi-day trek encircling the Mont Blanc massif through France, Italy, and Switzerland.
10. Fun fact about yourself.
I know a great deal about the process of distilling whiskey.
