Staff Spotlight: John Law

John Law joins the Cincinnati office as a structural engineer. Read below to learn more about him!

1. Meet my family.

My family of five is symmetrical with myself (24), bookend girls Elery (20) + Claire (28), then there is Boone (21) + Wyatt (26). Overseeing all of us is my mom, Melissa + my dad, Mark.

2. Favorite sports and teams?

Football + baseball were my favorite sports growing up. My favorite team will always be Purdue Men’s Basketball.

3. If you weren’t in this profession, what would you be?

I have always really enjoyed instruction, so I would probably be a high school physics teacher who would also help coach baseball + football.

4. What’s on your bucket list?

I would love to go to the Rose Bowl at some point in my life. Preferably, Purdue would be playing in it.

5. What is a skill that you don’t have, but wish you did?

I would love to be able to throw a baseball 100 mph.

6. What is the most extreme thing you have ever done?

I paraglided in Switzerland in May.

7. Why you chose to work/live in Cincinnati?

I find Cincinnati to be an underrated midwestern city. It has lots to do with a great balance of nature + city. It is also close enough to home where I can make a weekend trip back whenever I want, yet far enough to where I’m not expected to come home all the time.

9. Fun fact about yourself.

I have never broken a bone.

10. What would you sing at karaoke?

I would sing International Harvester by Craig Morgan.
