1. Favorite thing to do off the clock?
I like to travel to novel + unique locations to sample their food + culture.
2. Most prized possession/what you couldn’t live without (outside of family and friends)?
My gym membership. I’d likely go insane without it.
3. Meet my family.
My girlfriend, Trish, has a daughter – Jenna, and I have two daughters – Olivia + Brooke.
4. What made you laugh the hardest in your entire life?
I have a friend that was interested in dating a young woman, but he was incredibly socially awkward. He came up with a scheme to break the ice with her that involved smashing a small paper ketchup container on her nose. She wasn’t pleased, to say the least, but I have laughed about it every time I’ve thought about it.
5. What is the most extreme thing you have ever done?
As a teenager, I used to jump off a local waterfall near my hometown. An acquaintance of mine was seriously injured there during those years and a fence was constructed to keep kids out now.
6. What’s your favorite day of the week?
Being a big of a fan of Nordic mythology, I like them all, but Wednesday is probably my favorite
7. Fun fact about yourself.
I hold the raw bench press record for the master’s division in Georgia at 470 lbs.
8. What is a skill that you don’t have, but wish you did?
Here are three: singing (well), playing the piano + welding.
9. If you could design a structure anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Greece. It’d be nice to get a few site visits in there.
10. What market/material is your specialty and why?
I tend to specialize in wood, masonry + steel structures. I’ve had most of my experience in these materials as many concrete structures in cities tend to be post-tensioned and I don’t have the background to feel comfortable designing those.
