Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) named Schaefer a finalist for two of its Marketing Communication Awards categories: Video (External) and Direct-Mail.

Schaefer’s marketing team submitted our “Work at Schaefer” video that’s featured on the Careers page of our website. The recruiting and culture focused video led to 30% more resumes submitted and almost 700 minutes of watch time in the two months following its publishing. The video was also recognized with a Telly Award.

The direct mail piece was developed to raise brand awareness; it was sent to Phoenix A/E/C firms to support the office we had recently opened there. It has started conversations that have led to strong relationships and partnered project pursuance with firms with which we previously hadn’t worked. We knew the recipients were reading the mailers and visiting our website based on the increased organic search, new sessions and Phoenix users tracked through our website analytics.

SMPS calls its Marketing Communication Awards “the longest-standing, most prestigious awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications produced by professional services firms in the design and building industry.” The competition, open to members and non-members, requires submissions to include projects completed between January 2015 and December 2016. The awards feature a variety of submittal categories that cover most promotional activity initiatives A/E/C marketers pursue.

There are three finalists per category with overall winners announced July 13 at SMPS Build Business in Indianapolis, Indiana. We previously took home Honorable Mention in the Brand Identity category in 2014, but won first place for it in our local SMPS Columbus chapter’s marketing communication awards.
