what has been your favorite project?
I have many favorites from specialty signs and floating restaurants to big name projects like The Banks Phase 1A. If ask my wife, she say it’s any project we’re passing as we drive around town. However, I think my favorite project was renovating the Cincinnatian Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. I spent a lot of field time down there breaking out masonry to be tested for strength verification in addition to all the time it took to hand draft the plans, sections, and elevations that made up our construction documents.
what has been your most satisfying experience on the job?
I joined Schaefer when we were only three engineers and a part-time secretary. I was given the opportunity to help build my department and the company to what we are today. That has been my most surprising, exciting AND satisfying experience.
