Meet our presenters.

Steve Schaefer, PE: Steve founded the structural engineering firm Schaefer in 1976 as a one-man operation, growing it steadily to now 57 employees and growing. Steve regularly speaks within the OBOA and SWOBOA organizations on current structural engineering topics to standing room only crowds. He has been honored with many awards from various organizations for his outstanding contributions to the structural engineering industry. Back in the office, Steve is our expert investigator, performing the most complex forensic investigations for the firm.

Greg Riley PE, SE: Greg is a project principal and technical team leader who has been with Schaefer since 1995 and is personally registered in 15 states. His area of practice includes a wide variety of construction types, but he works extensively with the entertainment industry, leading Schaefer’s entertainment department. Daily, Greg is asked to design the impossible for outdoor events, concerts, theaters, and special, one-time use structures. His knowledge of structural engineering and creative ideas delivers projects to clients that seemed inconceivable.
