Congratulations to our modeler, Geoff Ryan, who recently accepted the Allied Construction Industries (ACI) Rising Star Award, which is awarded to ACI members who have proven leadership within the organization and the industry. Geoff joined ACI almost four years ago to expand his own knowledge and network, and since then has become an active member of the Young Professionals Committee leading People Working Cooperatively Prepare Affair and Repair Affair community initiatives. He has accepted the role of the committee’s co-chair for 2019.
Geoff joined Schaefer’s Cincinnati, Ohio modeling team six years ago and has grown his role past drafting work for design projects. He’s an integral member of the team responsible for our student workers, often involved from the beginning by meeting students at university events or during the interview process. Once the student workers begin at Schaefer, Geoff oversees the education and workforce development they receive from both himself and his colleagues.
While he has been consistently involved in the Cincinnati office’s logistics and maintenance, Geoff took on even greater responsibilities as our firm moved its headquarters from Evendale to downtown. He was the project manager for the relocation, leading the initiative from site selection to punchlist.
Winners were recognized at ACI’s Fifth Annual Leadership Awards Luncheon on November 7, 2018 at Ronald Reagan Lodge in Voice of America Park.
A Schaefer team member was recognized in last year’s awards ceremony as well; President Greg Riley was honored with the Distinguished Service Award.
