Schaefer provided the parking garage structural design for the mixed-use development, 49Hundred. The new garage spans 5 levels and holds up to 320 parked vehicles. On the fourth level, vehicles park outside of a wood-framed amenity space that includes a fitness center and outdoor patio. The parking garage serves the residential portion of the mixed-use development.

Because of an existing concrete detention vault onsite, the structure and its columns had to be placed as to avoid the existing vault framing. The team used transfer beams over the existing detention vault to support the new columns.

Schaefer also designed the residential portion of the 49Hundred mixed-use development on the south side of the garage. Future plans will have the garage surrounded by residential development.
