Schaefer’s Grandview Yard office will host a welcome reception for 69 jurors from across the nation Friday, April 24. The jurors are visiting Columbus for the weekend to judge the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) 38th annual Marketing Communications Awards (MCA). The MCAs are the longest-standing and most prestigious marketing awards program for the architecture, engineering and construction industry.
Schaefer’s Vice President, Ryan Konst, PE, CPSM, along with Dawn Wiford, CPSM of Shook Construction are serving as co-chairs for this year’s competition. Ryan has been an active SMPS member since 2006 holding various leadership roles including Columbus chapter President. “SMPS Columbus once again will showcase our city to our nationwide SMPS family. Schaefer and Shook Construction will facilitate this annual evaluation of the highest quality national A/E/C marketing content. We consider SMPS the best resource for our industry; the MCA competition is a celebration of what we’ve achieved over the past year and sets a clear tone for the future of our industry. Jurors score submittals on effectiveness, return on investment, quality, message and design in 21 categories including advertising, corporate identity, media relations campaign, recruitment and retention, and social media. Judging will occur Saturday, April 25 at M+A Architects. Winners will be announced at the SMPS Build Business Conference this August in Los Angeles, California.
