Addressing the need for additional parking, The Belle of Baton Rouge, a casino and entertainment venue, built an $11 million 380-car parking garage. It is a cast-in-place, post-tensioned concrete structure on auger-cast piles. The parking structure is located adjacent to the levee for the Mississippi River so there were several design challenges with levee right of ways. Additionally, foundations had to be designed to keep from penetrating the levee toe.
