Schaefer provided the structural engineering for this $28 million student housing and dining complex containing housing for 500 students and dining facilities for 350. The student housing is provided in four, four-story residence halls enclosing approximately 160,000 sq ft. The residence halls are framed with pre-cast concrete floor plank bearing on concrete masonry walls. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are contained in a basement mechanical room and in a deep rooftop well above the dining facility. The dining hall is a 19,000 sq ft single story steel-frame and masonry structure featuring a 24 ft curtain wall overlooking a pedestrian terrace.
